Girls at Work, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit located in Manchester, NH, is growing and we are looking to add Lead and Assistant Instructors to our team! Our woodworking programs empower girls through building. However, you don’t need experience in woodworking to apply! If you love the idea of empowering girls, challenging them to think critically, and have the desire to be a part of an awesome supportive staff. We would love to meet you!
We pride ourselves in having built a powerful and healthy environment that encourages girls to believe in themselves, even on their most difficult days. Our Socratic approach to building enables us to train interested individuals - even those who are not woodworkers - on how to teach in our workshops. Our goal is to teach the girls to use power tools safely while encouraging them to think critically about how each project is built. The experience of building elevates self-esteem and self-confidence which leads to a new narrative for our girls, one of strength and courage. It’s a rewarding experience for both the girls and instructors!
